Gardening in the first week of December

Contrary to popular belief, there is still much to do, both outside, inside the greenhouse and do not forget this dark period of the year, with short days and long nights very cold at times.

In the garden, raise some of the best of Hardy chrysanthemums in the event of sharp frost. The chair is useful cuttings, but wait until the end of the month before them.

Label chrysanthemums, carnations and stay together, and red winesbronze and orange, so labels should be tied to the trunk stool.

If there is no chance to plant bulbs in October and November, it makes sense to plant a few tulips and hyacinths to bloom in late spring, but make sure the lights are solid.

In your home, keep your eyes on the Indian azalea. Continental plants bought in October are usually pot-bound today and thirst. Once peat dries hard to moisten, and the plant will show their disappointmentincludes all its leaves. Immersion in a bucket is often advantageous if the rainwater is used.

December is a good time to cut a branch overhanging trees and shrubs, color and all with serious injuries arbrex. Protect tender shrubs attachment with Bracken and through the branches.

In the greenhouse, make sure you have good supply of peat for horticultural boxes until the last of the chrysanthemums and general gardening and see that it is washed thoroughly beforebe used. It can be left open for this purpose.

Carnations can be cut or gas pipelines, rose buds slipped out of control, over the next three months. Buds of 3-4 ins. it can be easily grasped by the stem attached heel. Geranium cuttings should be kept on the dry side.
